Christina Norström Blankstein combines realistic and abstract
components in her work, which in mainly figurative with strong
expressive colours.
The human body in repose and movement is a central theme and considering
that she started her artistic career as a portrait painter this is a
logical
development of her career. She partly gets her inspiration from the
rugged and magnificent landscape of the state of Arizona with it´s
intense colours.
The art of ballet and modern dance is another source of inspiration and
dancers are often the subject of her paintings.
Christina Norström Blankstein was born and raised in Sweden. She
studied at the university of Geneva Switzerland and later moved to
United States where she lived
in various places, she considers Arizona as home and it is here that her
family resides.For the moment she lives and works in Berlin Germany.
